Following the Footsteps of Heros, Never Lead to the Straight and Grey Roads. (Oh, Sleeper)

T 1.1

The bike traveled to the bike shop last Thursday, and today I got it back. I was excited. It was not really a long time to wait, but it seemed like that – hoping it would be done Saturday. But Tuesday it was.

He had a few things done to it this time. New tyres and tubes. Bearings checked and oiled and such. A computer added. It was all good stuff – I had not ridden the bike before, but it was nice to get onto a road bike – even if it is bumpy (and for that I am very greateful to have gotten a pair of riding shorts).

I have already a few listed improvments to make, and they shall happen as time goes on.

Version 1.1

T 1.0

After a while of riding my wifes mountain bike, and realising how much I loved the road, I started to really want a bike. John took me over to his shed to show me his drawing board frame (before he had it set up) and inside was a road bike. I made a comment about it, but realised it wasn’t his.

Later I got to have a chat to Todd who said it would cost $100. I asked John a few days later if I could have a look at it and he said I could just take it. I still don’t know how that will sit with Todd, but I shall check with him next time I see him.

And that was how the bike got it’s name. Toddney. It was Todd’s bike, and I didn’t pay anything for it (yet), except for the respect of naming the bike after him. My brother calls it fuzzy logic, but it wasn’t meant to make sence…

V1.0 had cobwebs, flat tyres, and a broken helmet. It was picked up after our first gig, at about 1.00am, and ferried home in the back of our car. The next he was taken to Hendry Cycles to be transformed into “T 1.1″.
